Our Story
The Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded to extend the fraternity’s legacy of achievement, brotherhood, and service into the North Texas region. Chartered in1997, the chapter has grown into a cornerstone of community engagement, mentorship, and leadership development. Guided by the fraternity’s ideals, the chapter has weathered challenges, celebrated milestones, and continually evolved to meet the needs of its members and the communities it serves.
Founding and Early Years
The chapter’s journey began with the vision of a dedicated group of 16 alumni who sought to create a space for fellowship and service within Denton County. Officially chartered on March 1, 1997, the chapter was a beacon of fraternity ideals, fostering camaraderie and a commitment to achievement. Over the years, the chapter expanded its reach, embracing the Lewisville community to reflect its broader scope of impact.
Charter Members
A Period of Reflection
In 2004, the chapter faced challenges that led to a temporary period of inactivity. However, the spirit of Kappa Alpha Psi remained alive in the hearts of its members. Through determination and collaboration, efforts to revive the chapter culminated in a triumphant reactivation in 2018, marking a new chapter in its storied history.
Reactivation and Resurgence
Since its reactivation, the chapter has focused on reclaiming members, welcoming new brothers, and revitalizing its community presence. Signature programs such as Guide Right and Kappa League have become hallmarks of the chapter’s commitment to mentoring young men and fostering leadership. Scholarship initiatives, community service projects, and regional partnerships have further solidified the chapter’s reputation as a leader in service and excellence.
