Our Founders

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., was founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Its founders, known as the "Ten Illustrious Founders," envisioned a brotherhood dedicated to uplifting college men and communities through culture, honor, and achievement. Today, their vision thrives through the Fraternity’s global network of alumni and undergraduate chapters​​.

Fraternal History

Kappa Alpha Psi has stood as a beacon of excellence since its inception in 1911. With chapters spanning the globe, the Fraternity emphasizes academic achievement, leadership, and public service. Over the decades, it has fostered a tradition of distinction, aligning with its mission to inspire service in the public interest and achievement in every field of human endeavor​​.

Province History

Our chapter is part of the Mighty Southwestern Province, which encompasses chapters across Texas, Mississppi, Louisanna, New Mexico, and parts of Arkansas. This Province has been instrumental in implementing the fraternity's programs, nurturing leadership, and fostering community partnerships. Through collaborative efforts, our Province continues to uphold the ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi, connecting members and communities across its region​.

Chapter History

The Denton (TX) Alumni Chapter was originally chartered on March 1, 1997. In recognition of the growing brotherhood and community ties, the chapter later incorporated the city of Lewisville into its name, becoming the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter. After a period of dormancy, the chapter was proudly reactivated on November 17, 2018.

Rooted in the values of culture, collegiate men, professionalism, patriotism, and achievement, the Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter is dedicated to advancing the objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. While addressing the unique needs of our local community, we foster meaningful engagement and service.
